Shannon McQuade LuQuire
Owner / Account Executive
A native of New Bern, NC, Shannon graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a BA in English. She began her career at an advertising agency in Raleigh where she worked as an Account Manager. She later became an Account Executive at an exhibit design firm where she learned how to design and produce trade show displays, create marketing materials and write press releases for her clients. She understands deadlines and knows that things can be overwhelming at times, but her experience and positive attitude give peace of mind that details will be checked and deadlines will be met. Shannon started Trade Ideas in 2007 after returning to New Bern with her family. Graphic Designer / Website Developer
Shane received a scholarship to attend Shepherd University where he graduated Cum Laude with a BFA in Graphic Design and a minor in painting. In addition to taking on a variety of freelance projects over the years, Shane has served as Art Director for advertising/marketing firms in both Maryland and North Carolina where he played a key role in the design and development of print, web, multimedia, and television advertising for both business to business and consumer accounts. Shane has received many Graphic Design USA Awards and his logos have been featured in the LogoLounge Master Library. His expertise and keen eye for detail are a driving force behind the creative development of client projects.
Graphic Designer / Website Developer
Matt has nearly 20 years of experience in graphic communication, web design and brand development. He has been employed for one of the largest advertising agencies in the world—Ogilvy & Mather, and the smallest—himself. He's worked on national and international accounts for the likes of Tyco, IBM, Allscripts and Divi Resorts to name a few. He holds a BA in Graphic Communications and a Minor in Design from NC State University, graduating Cum Laude. His knowledge of the Internet, dynamic content, graphic design and printing processes makes him a huge asset. Matt has obtained multiple awards for design, direct mail and corporate identity systems, including GDUSA American Graphic Design Awards and Golden Web Awards from IAWMD.
Graphic Designer / Illustrator
Wendy is a graduate of North Carolina State University where she majored in Graphic Design and minored in Art & Design with a focus on Surface Textile Design. She also spent time studying art in Florence, Italy, at the Italian International Institute Lorenzo de' Medici. With a background in print, a strong sense of design, and a flair for illustration, Wendy brings a fresh perspective to our seasoned team. Her organizational skills and keen knowledge of social media are both assets we appreciate. She is behind the scenes getting things done and making sure we meet our deadlines.
Social Media Director
Shelley Cernel is a graduate of North Carolina State University where she received a BS in Brand Management and Marketing and a Minor in Business Administration. She recently completed her Master of Science in Textile Technology Management with a focus on International Business, and a thesis pertaining to global social media marketing strategy. Shelley has lived and worked internationally, doing both branding and social media for several companies abroad. She has also lectured on social media for business at North Carolina State University and taught courses on product lifecycle management software. Her insight and knowledge of social media and the value it can bring to businesses is an important part of our online marketing strategies.
Director IT Services
Robert keeps us grounded with logic, technical savvy and hard numbers. Not only does he manage our hosted accounts and provide IT service, he is also a frontline point of contact for many of our clients. Whether it's managing a large database-driven website from start to finish, or photographing enough product to fill a catalog, we know Robert will be up to the task. His experience is varied and includes project management for multi-million dollar corporations where his expertise in processing large amounts of data are paramount. From custom programming and database design, to brand strategy and client management, we rely on Robert every day. In the few hours he's not answering client requests, Robert enjoys running, travel and collecting fine wine from around the world.
John McQuade, John McQuade Photography
Many people in town know John as Dr. McQuade, but we are proud to have him not only as our house physician, but as our house photographer. John has attended many notable workshops all of the United States and has developed photography skills in various techniques; moving from developing black and white photographs in teh darkroom to creating vibrant digital images on the computer. He is an avid reader and is intrigued with military history. His appreciation for natural beauty and fine details are evident in his photography. The most simple things are transformed into images that can take viewers to another place and we enjoy seeing the world through his lens.
Bob Mackowski, Open Aperture Photography
Bob was in TV news for several years before starting a professional photography studio in 2010. His sense of humor and warm personality make people feel comfortable, which is why we put him on the front lines for taking photographs of clients, large and small groups, and other unique opportunities. He specializes in wedding photography, which takes a lot of patience and expertise to capture the most critical moments of an event. He doesn't miss a thing and we haven't had one disappointed client; he makes everyone look so great!
Kim Briele, LCA Advertising
Kim has over thirty years in broadcasting beginning as a sportscaster in 1985-1989. She produced and co-hosted "This Week On The Hooters Tour" which aired in 80 million households across the country; developed and negotiated a business proposition with FOX in creating and producing an hourly daily talk show known as "Scuttlebutt" which aired in 2003-2004. Kim has also produced and narrated documentaries on Chelation Therapy and Bio-Identical Hormone Therapy. In 1991, she won a Telly Award for her pilot show "Inside The LPGA". Kim's skills include: broadcast negotiation, on-camera talent, writing, producing, video development, video promotion and commercial campaign & video production.
Ann Williams Jones
Fundraising / Administration
Ann Williams Jones is a native of New Bern, NC and brings a career history that includes fundraising, development, and small business management. Ann lived in Washington, DC wehre she began her fundraising and development career working on the national level by raising dollars for a major political party and candidates in several states. In addition, she created a donor program for Freedom Works, formerly known as Citizens for a Sound Economy as well as for the Susan G. Komen Foundation's National Race for the Cure. She was instrumental in reaching fundraising goals for the group by securing major corporate sponsors and maximizing race registrations. In addition, she developed, organized, and the implemented several "satellite" fundraising events surround the Race, which raised over $250,000 for breast cancer reserch and had over 50,000 participants. Her experience with both non-profits and corporate businesses is benefical when working with a diverse group of clients.
A native of New Bern, Maureen received her BS in Business Administration with a Concentration in Marketing from Meredith College in Raleigh. Her experience as a Project Manager with a triangle development firm allowed her to work closely with clients throughout the development process. Her continued commitment to excellence ensured client satisfaction. Upon her return to Eastern North Carolina, she worked as an Account Executive with Public Radio East. Maureen helped manage new business development and fundraising efforts during a critical time in the station's growth. She worked closely with the Board to implement internal restructuring and create fresh ideas for developing new membership and fundraising campaigns. Jody Cheek received her MBA from Wake Forest University with a focus in Marketing. She worked for Maxim Direct - a division of Trone Advertising, a full service marketing and public relations firm in High Point, NC. After moving to Elizabeth City, NC, she served on the Board of Directors of the Pasquotank Arts Council. Jody went on to serve as a marketing and development consultant during their rebranding and capital campaign, changing their name to the Arts of the Albemarle and opening a state of the art facility. She brings a fresh insight to thinking outside the box and helps us tremendously by keeping us on track. Jody resides in New Bern, NC with her family.
